Anatomy Occultus

Anatomy Occultus - the structure of Adam Kadmon This piece represents the first stage of an ongoing personal study of the Tree of Life and its metaphoric relationship to humanity as the microcosm and the universe as the macrocosm. It represents an initial step toward fusing together a wide body of interrelated concepts in my own mind, while also functioning as a permanent record of study. I'm excited to have a fair number of high quality limited edition prints, which will be available at my booth in the Art Gallery at DragonCon.

(1) a primal nothing/being or “Absolute” (Ayin/Ein-sof) (2) initiates a contraction or self-negation (tzimtzum), which gives rise to (3) an imagined and alienated realm (ha-olamot) (4) within which a created, personal subject arises (Adam Kadmon). (5) This subject embodies the fundamental structures, ideas and values of both God and the human world (Sefirot), However, (6) these Sefirot are inherently unstable and deconstruct (shevirat ha-kelim), leading to (7) a further alienation of the primal energy from its source (kellipot, Sitra Achra) and (8) a rending apart of opposites, resulting in the intellectual, spiritual, and moral antinomies and perplexities of our world. As a result of (9) a spiritual, intellectual, and psychological process (birur), (10) the ideas and values of the world are restored in a manner that enables them to structure and contain the primal energy of the Absolute, and complete both God and the world (tikkun ha-Olam). -The Lurianic Metaphors, Creativity and the Structure of Language

Limited Edition Typhon Poster

I still have 20 or so Typhon posters left from the DragonCon run. They are 20" x 26" limited edition (50), signed, 3 color hand screen prints on heavy duty French's construction paper. I'm putting them up on the Etsy store or you can contact me directly at chukart22@gmail.com.

Posters can be purchased here at my Etsy shop.

DragonCon - 2012

Had a great time running my CHUKART booth at DragonCon. Saw a great many impressive and unbelievable costumes, terrified strangers and their children, scared a busload of Korean Stewardesses...

Above all that however, I met some people that appreciated my art and what I am trying to convey and accomplish. That is it - the goal - the THING - the reason I do it at all. Those sublime moments of seeing my art communicate with people, that's where the magick lies.

Thanks to everyone who came out and visited and especially those who bought pieces. It is much appreciated and I hope you enjoy them.

If anyone wanted anything I ran out of, feel free to email me and we can definitely work something out. I'd be glad to take payment via square or paypal and send you something via mail. I talked to a few people about doing some specific commissioned reproductions (like large Kali with acrylic gel gloss brushover) and I'd be glad to produce and send those. chukart22@gmail.com

DragonCon Approaches

I've been working hard getting prepared for the quickly approaching DragonCon on Labor Day weekend (sept 1). Its amazing how much you can accomplish when you demand of yourself a minimum of 1-2 hours a day toward a specific goal. It seems like so little time, but it assuredly adds up.

This year I will have 7 large works in the Gallery Exhibition available for bidding. I will also be running a bazaar table. At the table I will be selling prints, framed work, hand screen printed posters, skull bows, hamsa pins, and various other items.
This is just the white layer of the poster, they will ultimately be 3 color hand screen printed on high quality french's construction paper.

Now just to finish my costume... so much sewing. So much glue.
